REINHARDT-WINDL AMERICAN LEGION POST 164 HONORED VETERANS 2022
I would like to thank all who donated to our Veteran Lights campaign this year. Your donations are very much appreciated. We have a large list of veterans and active duty service members who you all honored this year. It is our honor to publish this list of veterans and active military personnel who have served and are serving our country.
I would like to personally thank all of our members and volunteers who collected names and donations. The weather isn’t always on our side with cold and snow can be challenging but we persevered.
Speaking of challenges, some of you may be aware we lose 17-22 Veterans a day to suicide. This year, the American Legion has started “Be The One” to save the life of one veteran at a time. The American Legion’s top priority is to reduce veteran suicides by encouraging veterans, caregivers and others to "Be the One" to save the life of one veteran. Instead of focusing on the staggering number of veteran lives lost each day, it is time to focus on saving one at a time. That starts with destigmatizing mental health issues and making it OK for veterans to ask for help. In July of 2022, 988 Suicide and Crisis line was established. Veterans may use this number as well by pressing 1 you will connect with the Veterans Crisis Line. A website has been created where you can Chat Online or obtain additional information. https://www.veteranscrisisline.net/ . Please if you know of someone that is struggling, please reach out for assistance.
If you donated and submitted a name and do not see it printed, email us at [email protected], and we will update the list, we receive a lot of names each year and as much as we try, we may have missed a name or misread/misspelled a name.
Again, I would like to thank everyone that supported us this year.
Sincerely
Rodney Crane
Commander, Reinhardt-Windl American Legion Post 164 Jefferson
